State agencies holding forum on elder financial abuse

BOSTON — The state Office of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation will host a briefing and leadership forum on combating elder financial abuse on Wednesday at the Moakley Federal Courthouse in Boston. Speakers and representatives of the Executive Office of Elder Affairs, the Middlesex District Attorney's Office and the state Division of Banks will also be in attendance for the event, which runs from 2 to 3:30 p.m.The event will highlight the need for education among the financial services sector, law enforcement and elder advocate groups and discuss best practices and efforts being taken to combat elder financial abuse.
